2018 Youth Video Competition is now accepting entries!

Attention aspiring filmmakers! Each year, the City of Kitchener partners with the Kitchener Public Library, to offer young, budding filmmakers in our community a chance to showcase their talents and win some extra spending money.

Filmmakers between the ages of 12 and 25 are invited to share their original short films and animations for a chance to win cash prizes. There are two $300 cash prizes to be awarded in each of the three age categories: 12-14, 15-17 and 18-25. The deadline for video submissions is Friday, March 30, 2018, 5 p.m. During the selection process, videos will be reviewed based on a list of criteria that need to be met in addition to an artistic review based on originality, quality and design values.

Join us in viewing the winning short original films, including 10 honourable mentions, at the KPL central library theatre on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. and meet other like-minded, creative people in the community that share the same interest and passion!

Visit www.kitchener.ca/youthvideocomp for more information about contest criteria, how to submit your video and the selection process.
