World’s Leading Strategists Meet in San Francisco to Evaluate Societal and Business Impact of Fourth Industrial Revolution

World Economic Forum Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution welcomes more than 250 global executives and industry strategists at its annual Industry Strategy Meeting this week; Under the theme “Creating Value in the Fourth Industrial Revolution” the meeting aims to define and shape the outlook for industries, identify where sectors can work together for economic and societal benefit

The World Economic Forum will this week welcome top industry executives from over 250 global companies to its Industry Strategy Meeting. For the first time, the new World Economic Forum Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution at the Presidio in San Francisco will play host to the event, indicating the gravity shift in importance of technology for all industries.

“This year, the Industry Strategy Meeting aims to define and shape the industry agenda, identify where sectors can work together and explore how industries can shift from managing disruption to pioneering new models of responsible capitalism,” said Cheryl Martin, Member of the World Economic Managing Board and Head of Industries. “We will examine the biggest trends and newest business models to scale in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, how agile and inclusive approaches to business and policy can be embraced and how a systems approach can drive innovation and growth.”

June 8th at 10.30 PST – Achieving Inclusive Growth in the Fourth Industrial Revolution

“The pace of scientific and technological change requires agile governance,” said Murat Sönmez, Member of the World Economic Forum Managing Board and Head of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. “At the Center, we will develop protocols for governance of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”

Sessions of this year’s Industry Strategy Meeting will be held at the Forum’s Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as well as the neighboring Golden Gate Club at the Presidio. The Center’s mission is to speed up the benefits of science and technology for society by creating a global hub of expertise, knowledge-sharing and collaboration. The Center will convene businesses, start-ups, venture capitalists, experts, academics, governments and more to co-design and pilot innovative approaches to policy and governance.
